Royal Monogram: a nursery gets the royal treatment in a mural

We were asked to design a monogram in a nursery over the baby’s crib. First, we made an appointment to look at the room and decide how the monogram would look best. With a tape measure, we looked at the area the design would span. We wanted to make an impressive statement without looking gargantuan or, on the other hand, too diminutive and delicate.

Custom monogram, painted in Incan Gold metallic paint by Ronan. The blue is custom mixed to match the coverlet.
Our client had perused other monogram designs on the internet, which was very helpful. A visual dialogue is so important in creating a vision for, specifically, what you want. She liked the idea of combining a simple but elegant serif font with a more elaborate border motif.
Above is the approved sketch. We projected our design onto the wall and asked our client to approve the size (about 32″ wide) and placement. The painting was completed in one day. It is important to have a very good quality liner brush and the paint must be the right consistency to flow evenly. Years of experience certainly doesn’t hurt, either.
Below is the finished room, which also included realistic clouds painted on the ceiling. Our client is pleased. We quote, ” I absolutely love how the nursery came out and have been getting so many compliments on how beautiful it looks.
Always good to hear.
